I think that in today’s climate, publicly posting a death threat could be fatal and at least BlueSky gets that.

They WEREN’T lyrics from a song. They were a PARAPHRASE of the lyrics used in what could be perceived as a death threat. In today’s climate, suggesting someone’s assassination even as a joke is potentially fatal to the target.

First of all, this is not a direct quote from a Johnny Cash song and it wasn’t identified as such. Secondly, I don’t think the recipient of this post would have seen the overt death threat as a joke. Thanks BlueSky for keeping our community civil!
