"Not Bothering Anymore" by Me
I thought it would be fun to post these on a new network. But honestly, it's just a gateway to reading about how terrible everything is (just on a different network). Adding this to my "sites to avoid" list and going for a nice walk outside.

"Rewind" by Craig David/Artful Dodger
UK garage in all the best ways With slinky, sexy tempo shifts, the Artful Dodger namedrop was perfect (I was DJing at Chicago's Artful Dodger Bar when this came out) I played it in every set for years

"Show Me Love" by Robin S.
This was everywhere in 1992 (and since), and for a damn good reason. That keyboard line... her POWER vocals... all of it. It never fails to fill a dance floor.
Bringing House to everyone.

"Lazarus" by David Bowie
Another one where the whole record is perfect - but this sums it up. It came out of nowhere, blew everyone away, and then he passed away like 3 days later. A final masterpiece on his way out seems very Bowie-like

"All My Friends" by LCD Soundsystem
A droning keyboard line that seemingly goes nowhere and everywhere all at once... and then it all builds
Art kids and dance music have always been good friends, LCD kinda wraps this up and puts a bow on it.

"Fight the Power" by Public Enemy
Mr Chuck says it best
What we need is awareness we cant get careless
You say what is this?
My beloved lets get down to business
Mental self defensive fitness
Bum rush the show
You gotta go for what you know

"Rotten Apple" by Alice in Chains
I was never a huge fan of this band in general, but I love this whole EP. This is one that really should be listed with all seven songs included (which is partially why I chose the first track). Find a nice couch, and turn it up

"Black Steel" by Tricky (Public Enemy Cover)
takes some nerve to do a cover of Public Enemy and replace the best voice in Hip Hop history (Chuck D) with a female vocalist and a big guitar line... it's perfect. The cover is equal to the original.

"Leave a light on " by 7 seconds
Not sure how I made it all the way to #25 without mentioning 7 Seconds.
Styles have changed over the years, but the constant of good, positive, solid songs hasn’t.

"Moral Kiosk" by R.E.M.
When I think of R.E.M., it's mostly about the jangly guitars. But this one is really all about the drums (I mean, the guitar work is also top-notch here), but it's the up-front driving drums that make this one.

"is this the are" by diiv
Dream Pop is kinda a dumb name of a music genre, but then again if the shoegaze fits…
This is also a repeater. Odds are when I hear it, it’s going to get repeated a few times.

"Midnight in a perfect world" by DJ Shadow
I view this through the eyes of a skater. Skaters look at mundane items with a different eye, a pool, a curb, a handrail, and imagine the possibilities
Shadow did the same with his crazy deep collection of records

"Swim until you can't see land" by Frightened Rabbit
A tough song, and more so after the lead singer took his own life, but beautiful. I read after his death "I wish Scott was able to hear his music as we did and let it help him as it helps us"

"Warning Shots" by Thievery Corporation
Breaks and dancehall and all the goodness.

"Keeping Warm" by We Were Promised Jetpacks
If you have ever had the chance to see the Jetpacks live, you will know that this one is always a highlight. The slow build that keeps going and going...

"Red Barchetta" by RUSH
Rush gets lots of hate for being overly complicated, nerdy and sooo 70's, but honestly, those are all the things that make them great. This just sounds like WLAV in the late 70's early 80's, and I am OK with that.

"Hello" by Martin Solveig & Dragonette
a perfect pop dance record. Super fun, great hook and when it kicks in… yeah be like coach beard (if you get the reference, you are in the right place). the video is one of my all time favs. Great story in under 4 minutes

"Suspect Device" by Stiff Little Fingers (and Naked Raygun)
I Heard the NR Verison, then the original one by Stiff Little Fingers. Both amazing and shows how influeunces can drive discovery. Video from Riot Fest 2006 Naked Raygun brought out Jake Burns to sing

"Impeach the President" by The Honey Drippers
Trying to keep this non-political, but fuck "president Leon" Dumb Donald & their cast of misfits, sycophants, liars and grifters
A song that launched 1000 samples and needs just 3 words to get the point across

"Waterfall" by The Stone Roses
Whenever I hear this song, odds are I will flip it on repeat for 4-5 more listens in a row. It's that good.
Such a fun and weird groove, that simple guitar lick, all the bagginess... and indie rock re-learns how to dance.

"Comin' Thru" by Chali 2na
One of the best voices in hip hop (and, of course, a member of Jurassic 5) produced by Dj Numark (also of J5). First heard this as a track on Mushroom Jazz 5. Such a good beat- and can't argue with the "verbal Herman Munster."

"Ocean Eyes" by Billie Eilish
At a certain point, you hope your kids have decent musical taste- for many reasons, but mostly so they can share the new stuff with you that doesn't suck.
A few years back, this one came across, and it's just so hauntingly good

"Away from the Mire" by Billy Strings
I grew up running around in the dirt at bluegrass festivals in michigan. But then discovered punk, hip hop etc and kinda let bluegrass be. still love the music and then I saw this one.
Live version, because wow.
