I finally finished most of the games I bought in 2025, so I can post a top 5 favorites well after everyone else did lol.

5 - Shinobi: Art of Vengeance

Was a good year, especially for 2d ninja games

I just finished the novel that inspired the Ring movies (unsurprisingly titled Ring) and it was interesting to compare it to both the Japanese and American adaptations. The movies were smart to make the characters more sympathetic and to ratchet up the horror aspects over the novel's mystery imo

Saw a beaver at my pond but he puttered away before I could get a picture so here's the sunset instead

I went to return a graphic novel to the library and spotted Sinophagia: A Celebration of Chinese Horror on the shelves and had to check it out. I haven't gotten to any of the stories yet but it's instantly headed to the top of my reading list.

The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.
