It’s been a long time since this team put out an effort like that. Their play in the third period and it screamed this game mattered.

Hopefully Thompson will finally realize he can physically dominate most players on the ice. He doesn’t have go around them. He can go over and through them.

The Sabres showed they are capable of a good effort. Why can’t they muster up a good effort every night? Why is it only once every few weeks? This level of effort over any of the other dozen losses would have amounted into wins against lessor teams than Colorado.

There are few words overused more than “elite”. In Buffalo his defenses have been getting run over and have come up short in the biggest moments. He should have been fired after 13 seconds.

Beane and McDermott have both hit their ceiling with the Bills. I wouldn’t expect any changes from an owner that has kept the worst GM in the NHL employed for six years.

What a shock. Sean McDermott’s defense can’t stop the run. It’s time to be honest. If it weren’t for Josh Allen and a soft schedule this team would have zero chance at a playoff spot.

Josh Allen will always be my MVP. No other QB in the NFL could do what he does while wearing McDermott around his neck like an Albatross.

5-10 is not the start the Sabres needed to break the draught. So, now what? They seem to be on the verge of falling out of contention early again this season. Does Terry Pegula care? Is Pegula willing to do what it takes to save this season?
