The decline in long-form reading and thinking is already manifest in doctoral programs where students no longer read “whole books” and extended arguments. This author portrays a “post rational age” and its dire consequences for societies already in evidence.

It is almost subversive now to insist that one’s teaching and learning constitutes a “technology-free” and entirely human process. Music offers the possibility of a wonderful break from the constant technology and allows people to interact entirely personally with voices and acoustic instruments.
