We're at an intersection in time between fascism and late stage capitalism, and both of these things don't value art.
Capitalism doesn't see art as labour because profit is its target. Art takes time to make, and time is money. This is why industry jobs and studios are being cut left and right ->

people don't see artists (musicians, writers, crafters, etc) as laborers and that's the entire problem right there
people are inclined to see creativity as a hobby or downtime activity, you can't make it actual real work, what rights do you possibly want when you're being a slacker with no ambition
