I found myself in a completely empty subway carriage for two stops during rush hour in New York. It really freaked me out 😂 the carriages on either side were full! Felt like I’d crossed some blurred line of reality.
An experience I know will simmer into a story at some point 😎

Got my copies of The Ghastling today 🥳 My story (Your Eyes Only! Love Jessica) right in the middle with some fantastic artwork by Andrew Robinson (Monografik). My story was inspired by a house I grew up in and the letters my friends and I would write to one another (still got them!) 👻

I’m trying to make a playlist for my WIP. It’s a spooky, gothic middle grade novel about a 12 year old ghost who has to figure out her unfinished business. These are the songs so far, any suggested additions? 👻 Vibes: spooky, quirky, odd, uncanny, retro. MJ’s Thriller is probs my next addition

Last month I won an actual award. The Wilko Johnson Writing award from @lthanwordsfest.bsky.social for a piece of nonfiction writing. Still in shock, but it’s on their website now so it must be real!
