It's the last day you can get a FREE ebook of my novella, The Festivities of Morkwood! This Christmas folk horror tale follows the village of Morkwood and their tradition of opening a giant advent calendar, but there are no chocolates behind these doors... shorturl.at/3hugJ #horrorbooksky #Booksky

Watched the incredibly powerful documentary, Ellis Park, last night, followed by a Q&A with Warren Ellis. Piglet the dog stole the show, of course.

Happy #InternationalDogDay to all who celebrate. I made this silly video of my rescue pups for their Instagram account, because of course my dogs have their own Instagram account.

Tell me you've got Spanish dogs without telling me you've got Spanish dogs...

It's the middle of the day and so scorching hot that just watching them is making me sweat.

I picked Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen up yesterday and read a bit about Hiroshima that has haunted my brain ever since. Just before bed I started a western novel as a palate cleanser because by gum, I think this is going to be a frickin' heavy read. #booksky

Lonesome Dove blew me away when I read it a couple of years ago. It taught me so much about writing characters - McMurtry introduces tonnes of characters in this novel yet each one is unique and immediately recognisable. Any other good character-driven novels I should pick up? #BookSky

Reading Feeding the Monster right now, a fascinating book about why we love horror so much. My watch list/TBR has tripled and I'm only halfway through...

This little shit kept me awake all last night, but at least she doesn't shirk her responsibilities of guarding the garden. Guarden? I dunno, I'm tired.

I wrote a little piece about the assisted dying bill on my blog: 'Assisted dying bill for England and Wales: Should we be able to control our deaths?' I have researched a lot on this topic and even wrote a novel about it, but I still don't know how I feel.
