I'd like to know more about how exactly they derived that headline finding - the report says "According to this study, 22% of respondents with children under four years old do not read for joy, which we can interpret as not being read to." This interpretation seems to be doing some heavy lifting

We found that future need for stroke care will depend on whether stroke risk continues to decline or not, and at what rate.

Even in the most optimistic scenario, need for stroke care will increase, especially for poststroke dementia.

In a pessimistic scenario, need could increase by 50%.

In optimistic scenario for improvements in prevention, it could stay about the same as today. In more pessimistic scenarios, it could go up by ~60%.

In ANY scenario, post-stroke dementia will increase.

We need to maximise prevention, and plan to increase service capacity

Advocacy orgs like the Irish heart foundation have key role in working with HSE to improve health outcomes in the population - Ní neart go cur le chéile (there’s no strength without unity)
