My favorite nucleus stain

Also I just learned that the dye is from Höchst outside Frankfurt, not in fact Austria where this is. But the sign is blue!

Excellent talk by So-Yon Park, Cuscuta is transformable! Through the RUBY marker they also show that cuscuta exchanges proteins, mRNA and siRNAs with the host plant! Great to see developments in this field, I loved working with cuscuta in the past. Little green(& red?) snakes⚕️ #2025ISMPMI

Just like the 2006 paper by Burch-Smith et al., TRV-VIGS in Arabidopsis is very uniform when infecting in the first 2 true leaves 😊 Hoping it works with my genes of interest!

Love that RUBY is such a nice reporter, but dislike that the ethanol promoter is suuuuper leaky 😭 at least my hairpin RNA works!

Does anyone know of a tighter, systemically inducible promoter? 🙏🙏🙏

Found some wooly aphids, fascinating how they make the tree produce protective bundles of leaves! #plants

Attended the Trends in Microscopy conference on Wednesday! Current microscopy methods are insane, I was especially impressed by the Huisken lab's Flamingo Lightsheet microscope. Impressive images and a great vision! #academicchatter #science #biology

#plantcommunity I need some help with N. #benthamiana cell biology - what is the PM adjacent structure my protein localizes to in addition to the nucleus? Is it something autophagy related? Green is a GFP tagged gene and purple is chloroplasts

Cloning is a lot more fun when your E. coli look like pink lemonade! Using chromoproteins as assembly indicators is amazing.
