Welp, kittens, it took over a decade, but here it is, baby’s first hate mail! (Pro tip, Sir: the ass is not where climate communism goes.)

Just gave a book talk in the perfect library on the tiny island that’s the star of my memoir and the place I do my best writing. And it is foggy. Best day.

Missed marching with 100,000 siblings in my home city yesterday. But here, on a tiny island in Maine, there was also a march.

It was a double double rainbow day. So, quadruple rainbow. Second, third, and fourth rainbows not pictured.

13 years of my work stolen to train AI. The stories of my beloved dead, vacuumed up into lawless ether. It will break my heart forever. They could fund a thousand Carnegie-style libraries, socialized medicine, a clean ecosystem if they’d pay their taxes. Eat the rich, siblings. Solidarity forever.

Left the house in order to be in a room with Union siblings making art.

Nothing like spending the day with 3,000 scientists, conservationists, volunteers, educators, writers, publishers, artists, and gardeners to remind you that justice and mercy and learning and empathy are powerful. Thanks, Wild Things. Also I bought a book on mussels.

Hanging out with my naturalist people at Wild Things Conference today and selling books through @bookedevanston.bsky.social. Come and find me! I have two books left!

@cwahmanholm.bsky.social’s poems have been keeping me grounded in this moment.

In a dark time I keep reaching my hands out to beauty and meaning, afraid I’ll lose it. Every room I walk into with my books right now feels holy and crucial. Here we are, saving each other and saving the world entire in the face of burning, melting, wholesale theft. Come out.

The cognitive dissonance of today—being in gorgeous LA with beloved friends promoting a book on eco collapse while the city is still on fire—drove me to the Tar Pits. On brand.

Today’s snack was cake with my name on it. Book launch goals day two.

At last, the nerdy girl in me has unlocked a long-held desire, to have a book cake for a book launch. Get yourselves a writing group that holds your hand and makes you better and gets you a cake when all your hopes are fulfilled, then bring it to the bookstore that helped you raise your kid

Latest I’ve ever put my Chicago garden to bed. Latest I’ve harvested. I thought this might help with post-election feelings. I think it is making it worse.

My Dinner with Andre is on in the guesthouse where I’m staying in New York before doing a live reading at Hoe’s Pub tonight. I’ve missed NY and I’m so grateful to be here just now, first home.
