Hello, my name is Catherine, and I post art every few years, now on Bluesky.
I guess my most woke opinion is that the concept of "earning your living" is outdated to the point of being inhumane. The way technological progress is going, we will either accept that we should provide decent living for everyone for the good of all society, or continually descend into nightmare.

Almost went mad trying to change my Ebay address and ended up creating a new account, which worked.

I'm thinking maybe the old one was being blocked for being registered in Russia, but either way it would be helpful to get ANY indication of what the issue was other than "something went wrong", huh

To my delight and horror, Hades 2 is doing the same thing to my brain as Hades did and now I'm sacrificing sleep for one more run. I think I agree with (what seems to be) the general consensus that the storylines are a bit weaker this time around, but everything else is perfect.

P.S. Scylla rocks

Почему-то не ожидала этого, а оказывается у нас тут Резе во всех кинотеатрах показывают (с субтитрами). Вряд ли сможем пойти, но всё равно приятно.

Sad to say, after 2 sessions of Bloodlines 2 I just have no desire to continue playing it. I will eventually – out of curiousity and to see if maybe the story is ultimately worth it – but, damn.

Will also try lowering the difficulty to Story 'cause I don't want to spend time with that combat.

Is there anything to this life but embarrassment
Dorry for not cropping the image, I forgot this isn't twitter and Bsky will display the entire picture 😭

Hey, this stuff is way tastier than I expected, even the vegan options.

I'm gonna have a break in work in December (hopefully a temporary one), leaving me with half-free days, and my list of plans for it just keeps growing. I hope I don't end up crashing and just gaming instead 🫠

Может кого-нибудь заинтересует?
So, today I'm announcing a new book project... and doing a call for papers: crpgbook.wordpress.com/2025/10/31/t...

It's an anthology of video game history outside the usual US perspective - an accessible & exciting panorama of different realities - and I'll pay 300 USD per article.

Please share :)
The Video Game History Expansion Pack – Pitch your story
Today I’m putting my money where my mouth is and launching a new project — a book focused on game history outside of the usual North American perspectives.

Things that strike me about Seattle in Bloodlines 2:
- People really do not care about a goth gliding down from the rooftops.
- Everyone is too normal. Even the vampires are more-or-less normal. In LA everyone was completely bonkers, including the mortals. Maybe that's true to life, I dunno.

I'm doing my best to approach Bloodlines 2 with an open mind, to divorce it from the legacy of the title slapped on it. It would not survive that comparison, but it's fine, it can be its own thing.

But... I'm afraid so far it falls short of the game it is actually trying to be, too.

An aside from my Rogue Trader thoughts: it is amazing how much narrative freedom you get when you can simply not animate – and, god forbid, voice – a full-ass cutscene and just write in text whatever's happening.

Rogue Trader finished. 10/10 Owlcat does it again, can't believe the cast of companions is this good again, right after my #1 favourite cast of WOTR.

SPOILERS for the Elderlings books, relatively vague.

I'm sure she's going somewhere with it (the effect of trauma, or what made the Servants so cruel), but I really don't like all the torture porn Beloved's going through. Their experience in The Tawny Man was quite enough in my opinion, now this?

Alright, I'm slowly reaching the end of Rogue Trader and that means one thing. Let's gooooo (next week, when I actually finish RT)

Returning to Fitz's story makes me appreciate just how much less oppressive the Bingtown/RainWild part of the books feels. Horrific stuff happens there as well - and perhaps the single worst scene in the series so far - but the split narrative and quicker pace means that you linger less on it.

I feel like my inability to do this has been the most insurmountable obstacle in my art journey.

I just don't know how, man, every attempt to break away from my constraints causes a crash that is agonizing.

An empty world with no resources is better than seeing this

One thing that made reading RainWilds difficult at times is that Hobb's theme of malicious, regressive influence spreading around the world thanks to the corruption of people in power is hitting a bit too close to home these days.

Finally finished Blood of Dragons.

Overall I enjoyed it a bunch, but I had this persistent feeling that the whole series suffered from bad editing. Large amounts of repetitive exposition, drawn out recaps and plain old mistakes in the text (stuff like Malta calling Ephron Vestrit her father)

Ever since SHf's announcement I've harbored this far-fetched little hope that maybe R07's success in this role can eventually lead to a new Umineko adaptation.

And well, that's a bit delusional, but there are indeed new people getting introduced to his work through SHf, and that's very cool to see.
