It reads: The concept for a Germany-based fan studies journal originated in 2022, driven by three primary consid-erations: the distinctive characteristics of the academic landscape surrounding this subject in Germany, an increasing emphasis on open access and data sustainability in scholarly publishing, and the necessity of creating such a platform within the humanities. This journal reflects our aspiration to foster interdisciplinary research on fans and fandom, both with in and beyond Germany, while connecting German-language scholarship to the international dis-course. Our approach emphasizes openness, transparency, and a commitment to the sustainability of research and its data. It also actively invites and supports early career research. #Wissenschaftsfeindlichkeit macht ohnehin schon prekäre Arbeit (#ichbinHanna, #ichbinReyhan) noch schwieriger. Angriffe oder Anfeindungen können der Tropfen sein, der das Fass für Engagierte zum Überlaufen bringt. Folge-> brain drain.
