Depends how long he can do what he wants without pushback. MAGA/GOP won’t do it, so they need voted out.

Throughout the 80s and 90s. They caused the problem, and now we get to all pay more for the extra profits they reaped for years. Don’t even get me started on up charging the tariff increases to gain margin. But I work in corporate America and I’ll do it like a good salesman. We’ll pay more together.

We’ll still have to sell more or increase prices to offset the higher cost of buying American. I’m not saying I’m against using the American supplier. I just think it’s a bullshit statement to credit the tariffs. It’s the same reason people like him took manufacturing to China, Taiwan, and Thailand

He is not getting a deal on this new equipment, he’s paying the same higher price he’s avoided in the past by buying from China. He only chose American when there was no other option

Our CEO then shared what he framed as a positive affect of the tariffs. Our company is looking to make a capital investment in some equipment for one of our facilities. He said the last time we made this same investment at another facility, he “had to buy from China” because it was 30% cheaper.

In the event tariffs come off of products I deal with we won’t proactively reduce prices. Not even to customers who were explicitly told an increase was tariff related. They will have to come to us and “negotiate” a reduction. Not my policy. Corporate America.
