I do kind of understand how to get started on this... Godot is SUPER accessible, and there's a lot of goal oriented tutorials

I also don't want to make sprite sheets. Spine2D is tempting as hell. But also $70 last I looked

Project Zomboid is a crazy ImSim sandbox with so much going for it

But also I've stopped playing it entirely because they haven't added NPCs back in yet, and they've hired the people that were working on mods so they wouldn't beat em to the punch
