Fight for democracy!
Hiring from the highly successful Raiders would be such a ingenious move.

Delusion at its' best.

Congratulations! Well deserved.

Funnily enough I left that hellhole the very same day you did.

I like this alot.

Both as a kind hearted person and as a Steelers fan.

this franchise.
January 25, 2026 at 9:25 AM
Ha! And I always thought this was some kind of fever dream of mine!

I only saw one of these movies (can't remember which one) just once on TV as a kid. Unfortunately none of my childhood friends did, so this went all over their heads, leaving me the being the only one in my peer group to know about

I feel you. I'm livid about choice, too.

I was so excited for this offseason: Change was finally here! I was dead sure they were going for Chris Shula for the new HC, only waiting for the Rams to exit the playoffs.

Now my excitement for both the offseason and the coming season is completely gone.

I feel you and I see where you're coming from. Yet, I'd disagree.

"We" didn't trade Tomlin for this. Weak and clueless ownership did.

Tomlin is a good coach. But he didn't work out for Pittsburgh for quite some time now. Change was needed.

They could have had Shula, Scheelhaase or Minter...
January 24, 2026 at 10:34 PM
of course they had to go for the formerly great, but now washed out coach, perfectly fitting with their formerly great, but now washed out team.
January 24, 2026 at 10:11 PM
I really can't comprehend this!

I was dead sure they were only waiting for the Rams to exit the playoffs to announce Chris Shula as the new HC. He would be such a perfect fit:

Coming from a currently successful franchise, (relatively) young, defense oriented and with no ties to the team.

But no,
January 24, 2026 at 10:11 PM
You are spot on.

They're afraid of losing. More than they enjoy winning. So they always try "playing it safe", which doesn't bloody work.

If you want to stay relevant, you have to adapt. And if you want to win, you have to dare taking risks. And use the chances that come along with that.

As a long time fan I'm feeling so offended by this whole "the team is ready for greatness, were just missing one or two key pieces" shtick the organization has been feeding to us for over a decade now.
January 24, 2026 at 9:37 PM
The only "logical" explanation I can think of is that they purposely went for a weak option to make Mike Tomlin look better than he actually was.

I hate everything about this. They could have gotten Shula! But no, of course they had to go for mediocre Mike 2.0.

What a cruel joke!

heroes" or their offspring. They pick the QB from Pitt, they sign the coach who was born and raises in the area and they simply have to pick the guy who's father/ uncle/ hair dresser already played for the team.

Which also never works.

This team has become stale, cowardly and sadly unimportant.
January 24, 2026 at 9:26 PM
There are two major problem with this organization as of late:

1. They are afraid of losing more than they enjoy winning. So they always try to "play it safe", which never works.

2. They try to create local/ legacy story lines: Instead of getting the most talented players, they go for "home town

January 24, 2026 at 7:31 PM
I was dead sure that they were only waiting for the Rams to exit the playoffs to announce Shula as their new HC. And now this...

How am I supposed to respect this organization, which seems to have lost all self respect?

What an unserious clown show!
January 24, 2026 at 7:08 PM
They clowned themselves, completely unserious.
January 24, 2026 at 7:02 PM

Oh my god, please no!

If this is true, they're pissing away their future for one more unsuccessful year with old man Rodgers.
