Champlain Valley Fair. We ate ice cream, ogled the giant pumpkin, and I chatted with State Police at their table. I asked about speed limits, he said he doesn’t stop speeders on 89 unless they’re going 80+; I chickened out and didn’t ask if he was a trumper and would he detain me if I did 81 mph.

I’m on my way to the garden center. A new houseplant is a child- sized band aid for where we are now. A way we can work through this is to consider how so often, great and positive change doesn’t occur without discomfort and strife. Although I am pre-grieving the harm and suffering that may come. 💙☮️
