I think it is more in line with earlier and later defs of ‘formulaic’. Peters herself used the term ‘formulaic’ more than ‘gestalt’ (I did a word count at one point). She never mentioned autism/echoes (but did discuss “automatic speech” (older term) suggesting that that was distinct from gestalts).
