Richard Buksch III is interested in uncovering novel proteins that regulate RNA-protein complexes and investigating how the structure of these complexes change with protein composition. After completing his PhD, he aims to become a chemistry professor performing research in biochemistry.

Emmanuel Aidoo's (@rcaidoo.bsky.social) graduate research is in using synthetic molecules to probe RNA, focusing on how fluorogenic molecules interact with RNA aptamers. His goal is to become a researcher in chemical biology.

Ernest Atsrim's graduate research focuses on studying the structure and binding interactions of RNA-protein complexes and their impact on cellular activities.

Momodou Camara is our senior grad student. Momodou's interest lies in understanding how gene expression is regulated. His goal is to become a chemistry professor and use the knowledge gained in the Eichhorn Lab to solve major chemical biology problems.

Tharuki Malage is interested in studying synthetic ribozymes that can be used to modify RNA substrates. Her goal after graduate school is to become a researcher in chemical biology.

Sachithra Nadeeshani Senanayake is interested in the interaction between 7SK RNA and associated proteins within mammalian cells. She is also interested in biochemistry, molecular, and cellular biology. Her goal after completing her PhD is to be a professional biochemist.

Introducing Shilla Owusu Ansah, whose grad studies are on the structure and dynamics of RNA. She is also interested in the interactions between proteins and RNA. Her career aspiration is to become a professor in biophysics and structural biology.

Kicking it off is our Lab Technician, Bold Boldbayar @boldsaikhan.bsky.social. Bold holds a BA in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Wesleyan University in CT. He focuses on optimizing protein/oligonucleotide purification, mass spectrometry, and facilitating general lab operation.
