VISN 10 is the result of integrating VISNs 10 & VISN 11. It comprises 10 VAMCs; the independent Columbus, OH Ambulatory Care clinic & a network of 63 Community Based Outpatient Clinics. VISN 10 provides care to over 685,000 Veterans throughout Michigan, Ohio/Northern Kentucky and Indiana.

MHS GENESIS contains 255 TB of Millenium data growing at 100 TB annually. The DOD spent 7 yra, 2017-2024, migrating data from legacy sites into MHS GENESIS. Additional data is stored across MHS GENESIS’s 12 major subsystem footprints.

MHS GENESIS comprises: 12 major subsystems, 81 interfaces across > 1000 end points; processes 20M messages daily. Has > 975 workflows and > 200 user roles, serves 194K users & 9.6M beneficiaries across 137 commands globally.

MHS Genesis Challenges-- sheer size of the system; continued need to expand HW/SW to stay ahead of database growth, long lead times to procure expansion HW, the need for duplicative HW to support COOP/DR & need for touch labor
