Today marks the start of Global Health Equity Week, convened annually by HIMSS Today’s #GHEW theme is focused on #AI, an EHRA priority. Without intention, AI can reinforce existing disparities unless #equity is embedded into the design, deployment, and oversight of AI tools.

We’re pleased with several aspects of the HTI-4 final rule. However, we do have specific concerns around ePA: misalignment between payer and certified technology reqs. on FHIR IGs and unresolved industry issues w/DaVinci Project FHIR IGs that could prevent effective implementation.

Among the suggestions we shared with ASTP to reduce regulatory oversight and burden its certification program - without impeding program integrity - was eliminating redundant and valueless criteria and those that don't focus on interoperability. ow.ly/KGVr50VJ8zJ
