Those “credible policy commitments” in full: mandatory flag-shagging twice a week, refugees and trans people can go fuck themselves, more austerity, every other big decision ducked. And they wonder why people seek out alternatives!

Also, from elsewhere in the article - this isn’t the fault of doctors being insufficiently polite to anti-vax parents, and the solution is not to indulge them. It is for parents to stop parroting absurd conspiracy theories.

I’ve made my @residentadvisor.bsky.social debut today, discussing club culture’s post-Covid economic malaise and the need for radically different approaches to it.

This was a tricky one to write, but I’m really proud of it & hope it’ll help spark some broader conversations:

Tldr: there’s some good stuff in these new plans, but a lot of the details are couched in the same woolly policy-speak that has so repeatedly failed to improve things previously. The only thing that matters here is real-world impact.

It is insanely frustrating when the govt frames attacking disabled people as "taking tough decisions." Cutting support for those least able to fight back is the opposite: cowardice in its purest form, from politicians too scared to confront more wealthy and powerful interests.

The government’s own stats show that increases in PIP = more working-age people with physical disabilities (not just mental health issues, as is seemingly being briefed to the press).

Cutting support for people unable to work is austerity in its most brutal form, and utterly unjustifiable.
