I sat on this before responding b/c No Kings protests don’t pose the risks and sacrifice of other protests in history. But I think they are a key ingredient in the recipe for the moment. We need to be VISIBLE, NONVIOLENT, and obviously unpaid. We can participate AND take other, more direct actions.

If Musk and others like him aren’t brilliant, then this isn’t the meritocracy we were taught to believe in. And if we can’t pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, what foundation is there for hope? This is the root of our denial.
