My existence is not a mistake, nor a failure.

I am different in a world that never knew how to receive me—neither as an autistic person nor as a refugee.

But "normal" people are not the ones who change the world.

I am autistic and I am a refugee.
Just because I fall silent sometimes doesn't mean I have nothing to say.
Sometimes I simply can't translate myself into words that make no sense for what I live and feel.

I have the right to live, to be, without hiding.

This lack of knowledge prevents us from accessing public policies, support systems, and reasonable accommodations during and after the resettlement process in host countries. Not to mention the difficulty of validating previous diagnoses obtained in countries of origin or transit.
