#WorldDiabetesDay is here! To mark this day, EGPAF-Lesotho joined the Ministry of Health, SoliderMed and other partners for a #Diabetes and #NCD awareness education among workers.
After health education, workers received diabetes, hypertension, and mental health screenings.

When our USAID work in Eswatini and Lesotho was terminated, people were suddenly left without:
💊 HIV treatment
🍼 Prevention of mother-to-child transmission services
🩺 Cervical cancer screenings
🫶Psychosocial support and adherence counseling

The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has been saving lives and preventing HIV since 2003. But today the program is at risk.

Since 2000, new HIV infections in children have declined by 75%. This is the result of prevention of mother-to-child transmission programs, which help mothers give their children an HIV-free future.

Since 2010, there has been a 64% decrease in AIDS-related deaths among children. But still, too many children are dying.

Supporting global health means building on that progress and continuing to work until no child dies of AIDS-related causes.
