Any reason why the Sox are pushing Mayer and Campbell down the d spectrum?
Wouldn’t it make sense to have Mayer SS and Campbell 2B (or at least OF) instead of making them play less valuable positions?

Kind of a random q but looking back at the trade deadline last year… was there a process in trading like 10 prospects? Obv no one was notable, but was it just about cleaning 40man spots or did they just not care ab the value and wanted to win?

Is probably to sign one of the 3 FA aces, being back O’Neill or a similar bat, and sign a backend bullpen option. Maybe also get a guy like Bieber for upside
