I really need to start playing again. Got Jamie to Master before the big buffs a few months ago (partially just to prove to myself that I could get to Master at all), and then needed to focus on thesis writing. Never had motivation since; too many other games

As much as I love Monster Hunter Worlds, the system for getting specific resources from monsters isn't interesting, specifically challenging in and of itself, or particularly rewarding; it feels like I'm wasting my time until the one time the coin flips and says "you may now stop wasting time"

The more egregious part for me is the insistence of games to pay/grind for what you already have/own.The most anger inducing being shit like 7th gen access to your own internet (and nintendo's equivalent today) or coffee grinder gameplay loops the game is trying to gaslight you as being new/engaging

Proximate was a favorite of mine, essentially a game where you need to navigate an undersea research base entirely while wearing a pair of goggles that can only tell you an approximation of whatever you're looking at.

I'm in the same boat. I have a 3080ti with a Ryzen 9 5900x and I still couldn't run the beta at higher than 30fps on medium settings, and it would routinely dip to 14fps during intense fights

TW:Shogun 2, Underrail, Witcher 3, Sekiro, Kenshi.

In order, I like TW style strategy games and Shogun 2 was the most enjoyable version, it's an incredibly unique CRPG with a lot of build variety, I got cravings to replay, I loved the combat, and lastly exploring the world and the unique gameplay

Just a note, the talks haven't ended and the workers for Canada Post were forced back last month. If negotiations still aren't finalized, there's supposed to be another strike in May.
