Shadow's No Good, Very Bad Day
A Series of Short Comics Featuring Shadow the Hedgehog and his Misadventures in The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog P1: Birthday girl, Amy Rose, beams at Blaze the Cat and Rouge the Bat as they hand over the gifts they brought her. Nearby, Shadow watches the exchange. P2: "Hey," Shadow tugs at Rouge's sleeve to pull her aside. "Rouge, a moment." P3: Cautiously, Shadow asks " Were we... supposed to bring gifts?" P4: Rogue stares back at him blankly P5: and then Shadow's question catches up with her and she is suddenly aghast and speechless P6: Restraining her dismay but not so speechless anymore, Rogue berates him, "What do you mean 'were we supposed to bring Gifts?' It's a Birthday, Of Course we were! God who raised you! They must've had a Birthday on the Ark, you can't Not Know to --" "But," Shadow, hunched in shame, interrupts, "You didn't tell me to bring a gift to Sonic's Birthday." P7: About to lose it with him, "AMY IS NOT SONIC!" Strip 1 (left) P1: Shadow stands across from Barry the Quokka, arms crossed in his typical standoff-ish fashion. "Do you sell Gift Bags?" Barry, intimidated by Shadow's demeanor, nervously replies, "Uh, Sorry, no. I can get you a grocery bag, would the work?" P2: Barry flinches as Shadow clicks his tongue and turns from him. P3: A thought bubble manifest above with him in the 'dramatic dmitry' meme, thinking "I fucked up already?!" Meanwhile for Shadow, it sinks in that He's Screwed and Amy is going to Kill Him Strip 2 (right) P1: In the Saloon Car, Shadow grins maniacally/angelically as he places a high score of 7150 on the Super Monkey Ball game cabinet. He thinks to himself "HEH! I've bested those two idiots at this simple Arcade Game! Humiliated Them!" He jostles the joystick to begin entering his name, "And now everyone shall know," P2: "That I, the ULTIMATE LIFE-FORM," P3: "SHADOW THE HEDGE--" previously lost in the triumph, he is suddenly stopped in his tracks, "Ah." P4: On the cabinet screen, 'ULTIM' is spelled out under his High Score, much to Shadow's dismay, "What do you MEAN I can only input FIVE LETTERS?!" Strip 1 (top left) Single Panel of Shadow sitting in front of the Lounge Car's computer, head faceplanted onto the keyboard and a crumpled paper with the Ticket Town front page for Hot Honey's concert printed on it. Next to him, the printer continues to print out the page, the duplicates fluttering to the floor. Strip 2 (bottom left) P1: Shadow fondly recalls placing a high score on the arcade game, "- After I trounced those fools at that whatever game--" "Um, actually..." Barry reluctantly interrupts him. P2: "They SMOKED you." Shadow is stunned. P3: "Yeah, I mean your score wasn't even Top 3" Barry continues, revealing both 'VECTR' and 'KNUCK's impressive scores of 7501 and 7500, while 'ULTIM's 7150 trails behind three other scores placing him in sixth. This deals Shadow critical damage. Strip 3 (right) P1: "Hm... All's well that End's well..." the day is saved, Shadow is content. "..." P2: A sudden realization. P3: He stand featureless in a blank void as it occurs to him, "Did... Did I need to bring a gift to Sonic's Birthday?..."
