Unfortunately, the European Court of Human Rights has long ruled that recreational hunting is too frivolous an activity to be protected as a human right.

Pro-hunting constitutional amendments are usually implemented through ballot initiatives with a very broad and detailed argumentation process.
British fox hunting is in a weaker position due to its elitism.

Enshrining hunting (and fishing) rights in American state constitutions is, in my opinion, a reasonable defense against emotional campaigns (constitutional amendments require more serious discussion). This is one way to protect traditions and minority rights.

I've never read or heard anything like this in hunting circles in post-Stalin Russia. The concept of "(inherently) harmful animals" has disappeared, as has "useless animals."
