It's a weird situation because if it wasn't for the backlash I wouldn't even know about the game's existence. I also think that most people hating on it don't really play this type of game, which means that if it's any good the backlash will fizzle very quickly by the people actually playing it

Can't be much worse than Kennedy. The only project she approved that stayed away from nostalgia fest was Andor, and that was a prequel 💀 And TLJ ofc, but she quickly pivoted from that unfortunately

Fights to the death aren't that unique of a concept. Clearly the Hunger Games are based on roman gladiator games with so many references like the chariots, cornucopias, Panem, tributes etc.
