Update on the accidentally 100% rye bread: it turned out flat, but quite nice. Another proof that making #sourdough bread is not as hard as it seems, the end result is always tasty. Still: next time I will follow my favourite easy “unloaf” recipe youtu.be/QlgM2dceUEo

Guess what soup 🧐! It's Friday and it's completely unpredictable again who eats and at what time. Sports and side jobs make Friday the ideal soup day here. But which one?

One of the nicest things I learned last year is baking sourdough bread. However, I always found it difficult to schedule in my busy agenda. This easy recipe is the solution: it has as few steps as possible, which means I can bake it every week.

Do you ever make crème brulee? The recipe always drove me crazy. The cream didn't harden properly. These days I just cheat: I use cornstarch in my extremely easy crème brulee recipe. Foolproof, and the result is still super tasty.

Today is my birth day. I got loads of nice presents. One of them is an old childhood favourite from long ago: these super nice old fashioned dextrose lollipops 😍😍😍. #candy

Sourdough bread number 4, use a machine to knead the dough which worked pretty well. Now I’m going to search for another recipe that involves less work and longer waiting intervals. Tips are welcome!

My home town #Delft in #Holland actually has a working old wind mill (Molen de roos). Since I started baking sourdough bread it’s my go to place for good quality flour.

My first ever sourdough bread. It took more time than a bread with yeast but the taste is just perfect.

My first ever bread baked in a cast iron pan. I’m pretty satisfied about how it turned out.
