I personally resent the cutting of funding at Columbia University in the name of fighting antisemitism. This is nothing more than a scare tactic. A show of strength. The government saying, even you, elite university, better get in line or we will destroy you. I resent being used as an excuse.

@vanhollen.senate.gov what are the democrats doing to stop the destruction of the scientific research enterprise? The current dismantling of the NIH will destroy our standing in the world and our economy at home. Asking for all of my colleagues and students.

How do we make folks understand that the actions of this administration will touch everyone? Not just “those people “.

Can someone explain to me how stopping grant review and basically kneecapping biomedical research is helpful for anyone anywhere? What is being done to stop this craziness?

How will the cut in indirect costs from NIH impact research universities? Loss of support staff? What else? What can be done?

Why aren’t people protesting in the streets?? Is anything being planned?

Is the Fulbright scholars program gone as well? Was planning to apply for my sabbatical but the website is suddenly bare.

Anyone have any insider info about what’s going on at NIH? I know there was a big meeting today.
