I ignored the warnings, but from that I’m learning.

This is my favourite of Rooney’s since I read Normal People. I would have been fascinated to hear Sylvia and Naomi’s perspectives, but at the same time, there was almost one too many protagonists anyway. A really interesting look at grief and how it can change the trajectory of our lives.

Beautifully written, with a beautifully fleshed out family at its core: the protagonist especially. However, I didn’t really personally connect to the book’s central theme, but I can imagine this being hugely powerful for those that have felt culturally displaced.

I follow Niall online, and love hearing about the dogs, so this was an easy read. If you’ve a taste for anything that veers towards slightly saccharine, then you’ll love this. The title pretty much tells you all you need to know.

Fittingly, this book has been slightly destroyed by Hughie.

(In the end, my Dexcom alarm woke him up, and he went and got me coke from downstairs. He’s alright sometimes)

Literally, if they want to get me to do something with the promise of cash or whatever, cool, I’ll do it, but will I risk the embarrassment of doing something in order to maybe, potentially get the good thing down the line? No. No thank you.
