Robert Francis Kennedy, was born #100yearsagotoday in MA. The 3rd of 4 sons, Kennedy practiced law before becoming Attorney General in his brother's presidential administration. Kennedy later became a US Senator. Kennedy was assassinated during his own presidential run in 1968.

#10yearsagotoday, Jared Fogle, better known as "The Subway Guy," formally pleaded guilty to the distribution and receipt of child sex abuse material and several other sex crimes. The former spokesperson for Subway was sentenced to over 15 years. Fogle had been apprehended in July.

The Queens-Midtown Tunnel opened to traffic #85yearsagotoday. Construction of the tunnel, designed by Ole Singstad, a civil engineer, began in 1936. The tunnel connects Manhattan with Long Island City in Queens. The tunnel is used by about 90,000 motor vehicles daily.
