We just got Promissio in English a couple days ago. I’m not seeing much interest in Bayer in English apart from the Lutheran Quarterly circles, which is sad. He cuts me deep.

I typically read all the scripture offices in morning prayer, so for me evening prayer is more about…letting go? The examen might be helpful if that is your goal as well.

What if you start small by just doing the phos hilaron, the collect of the week, some silence, and the thanksgiving? That’s short, and might help rekindle the habit.

I think you could call it postmodern Reformed more than Neo-Calvinist. The way I read him his inspirations are more fundamentally phenomenology and Augustine, but expressed (at times) in Reformed language.
