It’s hard to put into words how utterly exceptional this experience was but I’m going to try. This game surpassed every expectation I had and in doing so it became my favourite game of all time. My No. 1 game of 2024 is…

The most creative and innovative experience I’ve played in a long time. Team Asobi crafted a very special game celebrating 30 years of PlayStation history, made with so much passion, care and joy, you can’t help smiling the whole way through! It’s endlessly charming! 10/11

My favourite indie game of 2024! @coalsupper.bsky.social created something special featuring tons of British humour and amazing animation! It’s the funniest game I’ve ever played! Plus Matt Berry is in it! What’s not to love! Reggie’s wife could learn something! 9/11

@decknine.bsky.social brought back Max Caulfield and I was so glad to see her again! This murder mystery had me intrigued through every twist and turn. The ending left a lot to be desired for me but I have faith that wherever deck nine goes, I’ll be there. 8/11

@focus-entmt.com and @dontnod.bsky.social created a choice based, action RPG set in 1800s America that was a creepy witchcraft adventure for the ages. Red and Antea made for a great team/couple however I found the combat was a bit fiddly to get to grips with. 7/11

@slowbros.bsky.social created a masterful hand crafted experience that’s unlike anything I’ve played. A wholesome point and click story featuring quirky characters, wonderful environments and some excellent humour to boot! However I do think it lasts a little bit too long. 6/11

A wonderful photography puzzle game from Silver Lining Studio and @playismen.bsky.social featuring an emotional story, wonderful voice acting from @suzieyeung.bsky.social and a beautiful art style as well. It’s a short but sweet experience that’s perfect to relax with. 5/11

A tense horror experience from Secret Mode and @thechineseroom.co.uk that blends lovecraftian elements into a game set on a Scottish oil rig in the 1970s/80s and it really makes you question your sanity of ever going out at sea again. It’s unsettling and it’s brilliant. 4/11

A charming adventure from All Possible Futures and @devolverdigital.com with a wonderful 2D to 3D style that allowed for a really unique experience however the amount of bugs and glitches really put a damper on what was otherwise a solid game. 3/11
