Same thing happened to me, CloudFlare has an anti llm scraping mechanism that works pretty well at stopping them, but yeah getting your e-commerce pages pinged by scrapers constantly does no good for anyone

We've always had the ability to build custom sites from scratch. I'm not sure all my clients want to pay for a fully custom built system for their sites. Especially one that requires custom documentation to maintain and is hard to pass off to new development teams.

To WordPress.com or a WordPress.org site?

Wordpress.com is clunky, but with a cheap bluehost account you can have the open source version of WordPress running for ~$10/month.

Page builders like elementor can make the process about the same level of clunkiness as square space.

Not shocked about vibe coders making software with large security flaws. But definitely a little shocked it's something as basic as RLS on supabase 😂

Can't think of anything you can't do on WordPress. Multi-vendor e-commerce, headless sites with custom frontends. Great SEO with minimal effort. Maintenance is pretty easy.
