Anyone who thinks "anecdotal evidence" means anything is not going to be taken seriously as a writer.

I was there, in my last year at school before going to Uni.

Quite so. I was also young in the 60s and they were shite, things were much better in the 70s. Pop music was better then too. Racism and sexism were rife but being a white male I was not personally affected by that.

Not just inflation. Boomer, bought my first house in Cambridge '85, £40K, about 2.5x gross salary. My guess after inflation is that would be about 200K in today's money. The actual valuation is over twice that (2.5x a gross salary of >180K). In some parts of the country the increase is much greater.

My godson has his sub paid by his parents, it may slip by unnoticed. That may be what they are hoping for.

This is bogus. You must have loads of equity. Get a second mortgage to cover the amount owed. Pay off the first mortgage. You still have a mortgage worth less than the property value.

UCP was the tripe shop? United Cattle Products, dear god it reeked. 5 years earlier I bought my first 5 LPs using birthday money in that record shop to the left; still have 3 of them, one has gone missing and I can't remember what the 5th was.

In Italy at a conference they had a free espresso bar, feeling somewhat hungover I had 5 with a glass of water during the course of the morning. I had heart palpitations by midday, wasn't pleasant.

Back in the 80s I worked for an outfit which used fancy workstations which had optical mice requiring a special pad for tracking. We once ordered 24 replacements. A large but very light box arrived, inside was 24 A4 boxes about 1" thick, inside each box was a single sheet of grey patterned card.

'43? They were probably, despite rationing, better fed than they would have been 10 years earlier.

And in the original thread they are quicker off the mark with Mussolini quips.

They've scraped the bottom of the barrel and this is proof, I doubt these remixes will amount to anything worthwhile. I may pick up 2nd hand copies of Anthology now as they are quite cheap.

Met people like this when I was a student, someone always took the opportunity to sell them a bag of parsley or carrot toppings. They would invariably rave about it the day after.

Replace the opening "We" by "I". Doesn't sound like anyone else gets a look-in.

Ozzy had his bats, Tom his pigeons. Two major entertainers gone within a week.

I find ten or more difficult to believe unless they're using it to defer full payment before interest kicks in, which is how I use my credit card.

I think that just reinforces my point. The brand guidance is for them, the popup message for us. Using internal jargon on external communications is either careless or arrogant, take your pick.
