I joined this session from @edunomics.bsky.social on crafting culture/pastoral curriculum.

Deliberate, thought-out and planned : behaviour + pastoral = culture. Lots of practical examples.

Passionate and informative. I have some thoughts which I'll later.

4/ High expectations and consistent routines are vital, but so is treating every pupil as an individual. Like Scar, every child has a prequel that shapes them. To truly help, we need to look beyond surface behaviour and understand their stories.

3/ Watching Scar’s story reminded me of some of the students I’ve taught: the ones who keep their heads on the desk, argue over everything, or seem ready to fight the world. Their actions often have roots in struggles we don’t immediately see.

2/ As the movie unfolded, we learned so much about Mufasa’s journey and Scar’s backstory. Scar (Taka) wasn’t always the villain we know. Without spoiling too much, his story reveals how misunderstood he was—and why he became the way he is.
