I thought Chairman Mendelson said the emergency curfew legislation was out of order & pulled it from the agenda. CM Pinto only introduced it last night, which seems to violate Council Rule 424 requiring 3 days notice, & LIMS is still saying that it was postponed to the next leg meeting.

Per CJCC data, youth arrests in the District fell nearly 20% between 2023 and 2024 and remain 35% lower than pre-pandemic youth arrests.

And while its still early in the year, violent crime in DC is down another 27% year to date. #FreeDC

Violent crime in DC has been steadily trending down for decades and fell to a multi-generational low in 2024. Every single article covering whatever the administration does this week should mention that fact and highlight the data. This is about power and control, not crime or public safety.
