Friday finds Vlad with Gogil the Giraffe at the Borisoglebskiy Monastery in Torzhok. After a lot of encouragement from Vlad, Gogil has decided to give his theological training another go and the monastery here has lovely high ceilings. The monks really like giraffes as well.

Thursday finds Vlad in St Petersburg wishing he was enjoying a coffee and pastry at his favourite bakery. Instead he's had to wrestle Justin the Blackfaced Emu under control because the little bastard chewed through his chains again and started chasing morning commuters around.

Monday finds Vlad in Dagestan with Piotr the Pterodactyl. They are current hunting sheep because too much cooked food makes Piotr grumpy and he starts biting people randomly. Vlad is enjoying being out of the Kremlin because the place is a madhouse right now

Wednesday finds Vlad with Rasputin the Bald Eagle in Altai heading back from a visit to one of his super-secret bases in the North Chuya Mountain Range. He likes to spring surprise inspections on these facilities and anyone not up to scratch gets to be Rasputin's breakfast
