Bingo 👆 calling them every -ist and -phobic has been a third rail for too long. It was never about their favorite excuse: the economy. Perhaps the scale of their bigotry is a gradient but it’s still right under the surface.

Sadly, nothing will change their minds because they are alike; he speaks to their dark parts and they want those parts of themselves to be approved by someone as high up as the president to prove they're not wrong in their bigotry, racism, sexism, etc.
