In June, millions of everyday Americans from every walk of life peacefully took to the streets and declared with one voice: NO KINGS!
And President Trump’s attempt at a coronation collapsed under the strength of a movement rising against his abuses of power.

Trump’s cuts to public radio would destroy stations serving rural and Indigenous audiences in the West. Here’s why, by the numbers.
What defunding public media would mean for the West | Alaska Beacon
Late last fall, members of Bethel, Alaska’s search and rescue team met at the local public radio station, KYUK, for a program called River Watch. Over an hour and a half, they took calls from listener...

I’ve heard politicians, business leaders and government officials describe the economic wonders of mining rare earth elements. Trump is doing it too. One developer told a Ketchikan crowd he’d create 1,000 jobs. None of it has happened. Turns out, what we REALLY need is copper. Read the article:
Forget about rare earth minerals. We need more copper
In recent weeks, you've likely heard a lot about rare-earth substances with hard-to-pronounce names, but experts warn that the shortage of another crucial metal, copper, could be just as concerning.

The mindless firing of federal workers is affecting tourism businesses in my town. It’s hitting parks around the country too.
National Park Service layoffs, hiring delays impact visitors
National parks already feel the effects of layoffs, even before the busy season starts
Some 1,000 NPS employees were fired, and hiring for seasonal positions was delayed. Here's what to know about the impacts already being felt at parks, and what it could mean for the busy season.

Support your local businesses and skip Amazon, Temu and other giants with no conscience. I’m visiting the Outer Banks of North Carolina and found this great regional brewery. Read the label.

Take a walk in the woods, enjoy the view, then sit down and write letters, emails or texts to your lawmakers in Washington and in your state, letting them know Musk and Trump are destroying the country and you won’t stand for it in the next election if they don’t block it.

110 years ago, the Treadwell Gold Mines covered the shoreline of Alaska’s Douglas Island with stamp mills, docks and buildings. What remains is rotting dock pilings, a few cement structures (a salt-water pump house is shown here) and concrete foundations. Today, it’s a great place to walk your dog.

This is Canyonlands National Park in Utah. Trump wants to shrink or eliminate public lands in parts of the country. Or let in developers with no respect for the environment. Let’s raise hell to stop that from happening!
