Read those two paragraphs three times:
- You can see the core of Andromeda with a basic telescope. “It fills the eyepiece”
- The core is much smaller than the whole galaxy
- The whole galaxy is 3* of arc.
- If the whole galaxy were bright enough to see with the naked eye it would be 6X the moon
