Lack of access to conflict zones in northern Nigeria doesn’t make your skepticism valid. Terrorists are using technologies, we’ve seen it firsthand, from the very communities affected. This isn’t hearsay, it’s lived reality.

At least 13 hunters were killed and many others abducted yesterday when the Lakurawa terrorist group invaded Gwadabawa and Tangaza communities in Sokoto State. Few hours after the stormed Kurdula in Gudu killed 3 people and many livestocks were killed by gunshots.

I’ve been tracking the resurgence of terrorist groups including #Lakurawa & Mamuda in North-Central Nigeria. They’re now spreading into areas once beyond their reach. With 26+ killed in Borno yesterday, it’s clear we’re not out of the woods.

It’s high time the Nigerian government listened to Zulum, set aside #ECOWAS politics, and worked with Niger, Chad, and Cameroon to counter the threat. Otherwise, #BokoHaram could strongly resurge — and other terror threats are rising too in northwest & central part of Nigeria.

Bandits are expanding deeper into the Northwest—Kano and Jigawa are no longer safe. In Katsina, they control key routes: Funtua-Malumfashi, Funtua-Tsafe, Funtua-Birnin Gwari, and Funtua-Giwa corridors.

Identifying the conflict entrepreneurs behind the killings in Plateau and Benue is key to ending the violence. Without this, the senseless bloodshed will continue. Their ultimate goal is to ignite a full-blown religious war between Christians and Muslims.

Residents of Guga, Kakumi, and Kandarawa in Bakori, Katsina State, are fleeing their communities due to relentless attacks by bandits. According to one local resident, the assailants have been killing people and raping women and girls with no intervention from the authorities.

The attack in Birnin Dede, Kebbi State, which claimed the lives of 13 civilians and left many others injured, is yet another indication that terrorism is silently escalating in northwest Nigeria.
