There are LA EP teams already that sit outside of being only within the SEND service to support agility and working wider than SEND. It doesn’t affect the requirement to provide stat advice, and working with the LA colleagues and partners is important no matter where you are.

Thank you, I looked through their other socials but couldn’t find it. I’ll check LinkedIn ☺️

Thank you - do you know how long the offer is for?

You can set up alerts usually with Local Authorities job sites. Linkedin is another place.

I agree. And surely some of point of it was that the adolescents already know what is going on? They don’t need telling about their own cultural references. The adults need to understand all the cumulative impact of our decisions.

I’ve never heard it called a consultation carousel before. Love it, may magpie it 😆

With the caveat that the ELSA should as always begin from what the child needs and go at their pace, might there be some helpful signposts / resources in the Andrew Moffat No Outsiders resources?

Jane, if we were geographically closer we could merge! This is one of those theories that has been a guiding light for my practice since the Beginning 🎉

Thank you 🙏. This is why I love both ed psychs and Elsa - it’s so much about the generosity and sharing, and very little gatekeeping. ❤️

Kathie, would you be willing to share with us too?

That article has played so much in my mind today. It isn’t always that my optimism fades, but sometimes it finds it harder to keep shining as brightly!

I signpost, I use the resources in consultation and discuss the ideas amongst others that might suit the situation. Working through consultation i see as a lot about sharing ideas, discussing new narratives and possibilities. The attitudinal change is more important to me than a specific approach ☺️

It’s horrible to think also that it’s around 1 in 10 in the UK for neglect.

I also wonder if they have attempted to learn lessons from previous experiences. Such as found in the history of the Ed psych world and in BBC programmes such as “subnormal”

I wonder what the Early Years specialists on Bluesky think about this.

The arguments should be being made for systemic change, not cognitive profiling of our young children.

This is a terrifying idea. It also repeats the falsehood that support is tied to a diagnostic label. And surely things like developmental journals are already much more nuanced ‘early screeners’ which can guide support?

That sounds good!
