I've not been as deep into the culture and everything as I had been a decade ago but I can't not think about my online growup with the logo kids not there just because the people still watching are either big boys or the new tablet kids who discovered what an 'object show' is

I'm also gonna avoid trying to discuss or even repost stuff on Bsky until I get my cover art and next Paper Leather project at least finished up - I often go on rambles and I've been recently debating starting up a blog, but for now my best option is to weaken my focus on speaking and more on work.

They should reinstate it... Bluesky is and was never your goat!

Also I actually heard rumors that the Switch Online emulator was someone elses - of course it is such a rumor but even though the video is fun fodder for nerdology, trying to cater to a casual crowd with giving it grades when also trying to present the video as 'why speedruns dont use such' didntwrk

"The ROM checker I wrote passed my emulator I also wrote"

or how he actually presents it in the video "4 emulators INCLUDING MY OWN"... so 3 emulators... 3 emulators did better on your test... because of course your emulator would do well against your own checker

Having seen the video and liking it, I gotta admit that putting your own custom emulator with your own ROM checker is a bit much. Regardless of the veracity of if you could trust the marketing of the video or the claims, doing that is obvious bad practice in my opinion.

Would you say there is a 'bandcamp' alternative, or is it gonna be a 'youtube for indie musicians' if you know what I mean? Cause yeah, you could always host a site or something, but I wonder what'd you recommend in alue of this push.

What you talking about? I don't actually get the reference 😅
Sydney as in Sydney Sweenie or as in Australia, or what the 'situation' is?

Of course, the can of worms of "should software be closed or open-source" and the effects about profiting through software sales is a whole other can of worms too..

This is not about what you asked, but this is an antidote I got reminded of. FL Studio, property of Image-Line, has a whole section on their website about reporting Piracy. I once heard a statistic they said that FL Studio wasn't profitable until relatively recently because of 'lost profits'.

Can you source this? I've heard and agree about the idea that people who pirate will usually buy games or spread stuff through word of mouth. But you're claiming pirates will spend more 'on average' than most consumers! That I'm very intrigued by if true..
