My guess: Russia will end the war in Ukraine in 2026. Then prepare an attack on the baltics in 2027. Of course Trump admin won’t adhere to NATO article 5 and so will many 🇪🇺 allies (difficult to justify sending own troops to die for some Baltic town). This will effectively break western alliance.

If they go nuclear they will ban all businesses from using cloud tech, such as azure, GCP and AWS. Almost every company be it small or large use some of this nowadays. They could also cut us off from visa and Master card payments. We won’t be able to pay with debit/credit cards, nor withdraw money.

However there IS a growing rift between France and Germany (see FCAS project) even though we both never had such pro-EU leaders at the same time. EU as a rules based democratic system faces many challenges in the emerging authoritarian world. Franco-German relations are key (if we like it or not)

Yeah it’s not super conclusive. There are different readings of what happened I guess. On the one hand, EU didn’t black out entirely, on the other hand EU (again) didn’t show real strength against Putin, which might encourage US/Russia to continue ignoring EUs position going forward.

Well but there IS actually a rift. Just see the FCAS project as another example. Keeping quiet about it also is not a solution. We can’t work together like this if we want to survive in the emerging anti-democratic authoritarian world order.

Grundsätzlich finde ich es komplett lost, dass Wertsteigerungen von Immobilien nicht versteuert werden müssen. 10% Wertsteigerung Aktie -> 25% Steuern auf den Gewinn. 10% Wertsteigerung Grundstück -> 0% Steuern auf den Gewinn. 🤔

Relevant fand ich die Information (was ich lange nicht wusste), dass der Löwenanteil (ca 65%) dieses Vermögens in Immobilien steckt. Vermögen in Firmenanteilen ist also gar nicht so relevant. Stärkere Besteuerung von Immobilien (und deren Wertzuwächsen) muss her.

Die Vermieter hier lassen ihre Bruchbuden einfach unsaniert stehen. Gemacht wird nur, was unbedingt nötig ist. Aus Mangel an Wohnraum nehmen Mieter praktisch alles, und das auch für gut Geld. Ich hab hier schon Original Fliesenspiegel aus den 50ern gesehen.

My dad visited Warsaw from GDR back in Soviet times. He didn’t know polish so he asked in Russian for the next train. The guy he asked immediately hit him in the face. He tried the same thing at the counter, with the woman shouting “POPOLSKU!”. The hatred for Russia seemed deep back then, but now?

Exakt. Das ist auch der Grund warum die jungen Leute bei den Protesten keine EU Fahnen haben. Die glauben halt immer noch den Anspruch auf irgendein Jugoslawisches Großreich zu haben und das sie ja sowieso die geilsten sind. Komplett lost.
