Today I flew by the famous Edward's Air Force Base where many of our greatest aviation accomplishments were made such as breaking the sound barrier. You can even see the outline of the salt flat runway where the x-1, x-15 and other legendary test aircraft landed.

The National Weather Service is suspending some weather balloon launches. As a wildland firefighter and as a pilot, I use the data from these balloons in both roles, and they provide information critical to safety in both disciplines. Suspending these balloons is bad. A thread: 1/ t.co/wI49DRbwc6
