He can only play for two clubs this season, not just PL. If Emery really didn’t want him, what the hell us going on behind the scenes at Villa Park?
December 13, 2025 at 1:44 PM
Is there any reason why Liverpool can’t waive the requirement to purchase him if he makes more than nine appearances for Villa? That would seem the best way out for everyone.

But but Sadiq Khan .....

If it were down to me, I'd ban all SUVs for any driver, not just P platers.

If you emigrated from the UK, you still have a vote in UK general elections.

Disappointing to see you hitch your wagon to the Murdoch/Liberal witch-hunt against her.

Still a proper subject and hopefully it was worthwhile (and enjoyable)!

I’m lucky enough that I did.

Maths is a brilliant choice of degree. Business Studies is just a way of loading yourself with debt for no good reason, as business is best learned in the real world.

Like Corbyn, you mean?

I read it that he was referring to his long-term savings plans. But we can agree that some cash savings to avoid the need to sell at the wrong time is sensible.
November 29, 2025 at 12:41 PM
I find it astonishing that a financial services journalist is proposing a cash ISA as part of a long term investment strategy.
November 29, 2025 at 1:26 AM
So not even half, if you look for the worst ever case. Stock market investing isn’t for the short term anyway and investors only lost money if they sold up. It’s not the calling out of hyperbole but decrying the way such casual phrases are used to cement the dreadful financial illiteracy in the UK.

How do you "lose the lot" if you're tracking an index, say the FT100? Has it ever gone to zero? Is that even theoretically possible?
November 29, 2025 at 1:00 AM
I’m not trying to persuade anyone. Indeed I agree that this woman’s complaints are unjustified. But although the tax is levied on the estate, the way it operates is why it can feel like a tax on the beneficiaries.
November 24, 2025 at 1:19 PM
True, but the need to pay before probate is why beneficiaries will feel like it’s they who are paying the tax, rather than the estate. It does all depend on the mix of assets, as anything other than cash is unrealisable without probate.
November 24, 2025 at 1:10 PM
Someone has to come up with the readies to pay the tax before HMRC grants probate and it’s usually the beneficiaries.
November 24, 2025 at 12:56 PM
It was a rhetorical question!
September 10, 2025 at 11:10 AM
Can’t she just join Bernardi’s party?
September 10, 2025 at 11:01 AM
I assumed she already had.

Without a key, it’s impossible to understand what the components of this chart are.

Liz Truss being full of shit is the least newsworthy thing I can think of.
June 5, 2025 at 9:01 AM
Surely Christians' right to say that is protected under the first amendment anyway?
April 30, 2025 at 2:34 AM
Great line of questioning as it gives Butler the opportunity to bring up Dutton’s record and demonstrate that he’s untrustworthy.

Specifically, we need lots more public housing.
